Financial Disclaimer

Calculators show estimates, not advice. This page explains what that means.

Last updated September 20, 2026

IQMoneyPlanner provides calculators and educational content for general information. Please read this disclaimer before relying on anything you see on the site.

Not financial, tax or legal advice

The results produced by our calculators, and the articles and explanations around them, are not personalized financial, investment, tax, accounting, insurance or legal advice. We do not know your full financial situation, goals or risk tolerance, and we do not recommend any loan, product, security, strategy or action. Use the site to learn and to compare scenarios, and speak with a licensed professional, such as a financial planner, tax preparer, attorney or your lender, before making decisions that matter.

Results are estimates

Every calculator relies on the inputs you provide and on simplifying assumptions, which each page describes. Actual results will differ. For example, a mortgage estimate may leave out closing costs, changes in property tax or insurance, and lender-specific rules. A take-home pay estimate cannot see your W-4 elections, local taxes or benefits. An investment or retirement projection uses a steady rate of return that markets do not follow. Interest rates, fees, tax rates and eligibility rules vary by lender, employer, product, state and over time.

Investing involves risk

Projections of investment growth, retirement savings and returns are illustrations based on assumed rates, not forecasts or guarantees. Investments can lose value, including the loss of the amount invested. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Fees, taxes and inflation reduce real returns, and a calculator cannot predict the order or size of market returns.

Reference data and changing rules

Some calculators use reference data such as federal tax brackets and deductions, payroll tax rates and wage limits, retirement contribution limits, state sales tax rates and Consumer Price Index values. This data was last reviewed in September 2026, and it can become outdated when laws or rates change. State income tax in the take-home pay calculator is simplified. Tax deductions and credits, including recent temporary federal deductions, are not all modeled. Always check current rules with the IRS, your state revenue department or a qualified tax professional.

Accuracy and errors

We work to make the calculators accurate and to test them, but we do not guarantee that they are free of errors or omissions, or that they are suitable for any particular purpose. If you find a mistake, please tell us. You are responsible for verifying results before you use them.

Third-party information and links

Where the site cites government agencies or other organizations, it does so to identify a source. Their material is theirs, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by them. We are not responsible for the content of outside websites.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IQMoneyPlanner and its operator are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, the site’s calculators or content. See the Terms of Use for details.
